Education is one of the most important building blocks for the healthy development of any society. It is absolutely essential for poorer communities, since education empowers people with skills for employment, and a voice to articulate their needs to Governments and service providers.

Mukuru Promotion Centre’s health component is designed to improve access to health services for the Mukuru communities and to education of community groups in better health practices. Peer education in the areas of safe water and sanitation and other aspects of public health form part of the health program.

Kenya’s vulnerable youth need careful attention to assist them to become responsible citizens who can play a productive role in society. MPC’s program is short term (one year) with the focus on returning boys from the street back to family, mainstream schools, employment and/or industrial attachments that will lead to employment.
